IMPORTANT UPDATE: To prevent any potential accusations of biased judging, when sending the application to me (Chris Street) via DC-Mail, please mention your name, e-mail address, and home address, but seperate to the actual zip file. Your product will be assigned an ID number for the other admins to judge. We are not enforcing this rule however, so if you really, really want to, keep your name/group in the application. Still, all addresses to be sent alongside the zip file please.

COMPETITION DETAILS

It's time once again for this years TDC Christmas Competition. There is only room for one winner, but the main prize, generously donated by the wonderful folk at Clickteam, is the full version of Multimedia Fusion 2 Pro! A seriously cool prize indeed!

The theme for this years competition is:

CHRISTMAS: ANYTHING GOES

What does this mean?

Rather obviously, the answer lies within the theme of the competition. Make a product using any software made by Clickteam only, in any genre. It does need to have a Christmas theme, which we would assume to be fairly obvious. You could make a platformer. Perhaps a puzzler in the vein of Tetris? What about an edutainment program? A storybook? The possibilities aren't endless, but you have a very wide range of styles and genres to choose from.

There are of course rules to follow, but they aren't as strict as the rules in last years Christmas competition. You'll find a full recap of these on the Rules page. One of the most important rules is that everything must end up in the same folder as the product file. Save files, dll files, music - everything. The admins don't want to rummage through their hard-drives looking for the remanants of old saved products. As mentioned however, take a look at the Rules page for further details.

Judging takes place only after the deadline has passed. We will not start judging a product before this date. Products will be judged under various conditions, such as Graphics and the good old made-up word Christmassiness - more details on all of the conditions can be found on the Judging Criteria page. Be warned - we're going to be tighter on judging conditions this year - only those who put the most effort in will reap the greatest rewards (or scores)!

Finally, please only enter this competition if you actually feel you're capable of winning (and that you fully intend to try to win) the big prize. Last year's Christmas competition had a large number of entries, but we feel that only some of you took the idea of winning seriously.

While Clickteam are supplying the main prize, they do not endorse or sponsor this event and thus cannot be held responsible for any mishaps, if any, that may take during this competition. products that are late for this competition will be null and void. The judges for the competition are Chris Street, David Newton, Knudde (Shab), Andi Smith and Assault Andy. If you enter the competition and finish the product before the deadline, you may release it whereever you wish to, but it will not be accepted at The Daily Click until after ALL the judging has taken place and the results posted on both this mini-site and the main pages of The Daily Click. Neither us or Clickteam will be held accountable in the case of any prize lost in the post. All judging is fair and unbiased. Attempts to bribe the judges will result in a painful slap to the face. Judging will take as long as it takes, and the results will be announced over at TDC as soon as possible.
