COMPETITION RULES

It's important that the requirements listed below are met, in order to be accepted into this competition. Failure to meet all the requirements will result in disqualification, and will ruin your chance to win MMF2 Pro! READ THESE RULES VERY CAREFULLY, IF THERE IS ANYTHING YOU'RE UNSURE OF, ASK US!

  • The final combined package must weigh in at a filesize of up to, but not much more than, 12MB. If you are just a few kilobytes over in size then your product will still be accepted.

  • A product by Clickteam needs to be used to make the application. Anything else, like RPGMaker, for instance, will not be accepted. UPDATE: Jamagic doesn't apply to this competition.

  • You must have a (fairly) reliable place to upload your product. If Sitesled is down and you can't upload your application before the deadline, for instance, then you will have problems. Try getting a friend to host for you perhaps.

  • Send the link to the finished application to Chris Street via DC Mail. The link will be added to a private forum; this is where the other judges will download the game once the deadline passes.

  • Please only use a zip package to compress your files. WinRAR and installers will not be accepted.

  • Before submitting your application you must virus scan it.

  • You must include all necessary files in the same folder as the application. This means the required files to run the program (CNCS232.DLL files, for instance), external audio files (for example, MODs and WSF's), and save settings (array, ini, etc). The judges do not wish to sift through their hard drives trying to find random files once this competition is over. You also need to include any extentions you may use, so the judges don't need to search all over the internet for them ;)

    ADVICE!
Use the basic command Appdrive$ + Appdir$ + "filename.xxx" to store the file in the same directory as the .exe

  • Keep swearing to an absolute minimum. In addition, there is to be no content that would incite racial hatred, sexism, no pornography. Basically, keep the application clean, and family friendly.

  • You can choose to submit a solitary or group entry. However, you cannot submit more than one entry. If you work as a group then be aware that only one of you has the potential to hold the prize, so discuss amongst yourselves.

  • You may edit your application as many times as you need to - even if you have already submitted it as an entry. For example, you might submit it ten days before the deadline, and then suddenly discover a bug in the engine. You will be able to resubmit it - but only before the deadline. The judges won't download any applications before this deadline takes place.

  • The judges descision is final and you must not attempt to influence that descision in any way. Doing so will result in disqualification.

  • Entries will not be accepted after Saturday 24th December at 10pm GMT. Once this time has passed, the competition will be closed and no further entries, no matter how hard you beg, will be able to enter. Take a look at the link at the top of the page which directs you to the time converter website for your area, to get an accurate time.

  • Clickteam are not responsible for the outcome of this competition and aren't affiliated with it in any way, except to offer the winner with a copy of Multimedia Fusion 2. Clickteam will not influence the judges decision and cannot be held accountable for lost prizes.

  • When you submit the application, please include a text file (Notepad is absolutely fine) with your Product Name, and a brief description. In addition, please include a screenshot of the product, sized 170x130 and in .gif format. And, when you take the screenshot, make sure it is interesting... not a menu or a title page! Submit both the SOURCE and an EXECUTABLE FILE IN THE ZIP, HENCEFORTH THE NEW 12MB LIMIT.

  • IMPORTANT UPDATE: To prevent any potential accusations of biased judging, when sending the application to me (Chris Street) via DC-Mail, please mention your name, e-mail address, and home address, but seperate to the actual zip file. Your product will be assigned an ID number for the other admins to judge. We are not enforcing this rule however, so if you really, really want to, keep your name/group in the application. Still, all addresses to be sent alongside the zip file please.

  • Due to the hectic lives of the judges, and the fact that the applications will take time to evaluate, we cannot guarentee an exact date for the announcement of the winners of this competition. We will, however, do our best to get the results in as quickly as possible after the release date.

  • When you finish the product, you may release it as you wish, but it must not make even a fleeting appearance at The Daily Click until the results are announced. If it is seen floating around TDC, and it is submitted by the owner, the product may risk disqualification.

  • The graphics must be original, and all your own work. Audio can be used from the internet as it's a lot harder to compose for some people.

  • If you are making a game, you can choose the number of levels required. More levels however shows more effort, so bear that in mind :)

  • All personal data submitted to us will be treated confidentially and will not be revealed or distributed to anyone, except in the case of the winner, who's address will be given to Clickteam so they can receive their prize! This includes the address of anyone and also the source code (we will not distribute any of these details).
  • While Clickteam are supplying the main prize, they do not endorse or sponsor this event and thus cannot be held responsible for any mishaps, if any, that may take during this competition. Products that are late for this competition will be null and void. The judges for the competition are Chris Street, David Newton, Knudde (Shab), Andi Smith and Assault Andy. If you enter the competition and finish the product before the deadline, you may release it whereever you wish to, but it will not be accepted at The Daily Click until after ALL the judging has taken place and the results posted on both this mini-site and the main pages of The Daily Click. Neither us or Clickteam will be held accountable in the case of any prize lost in the post. All judging is fair and unbiased. Attempts to bribe the judges will result in a painful slap to the face. Judging will take as long as it takes, and the results will be announced over at TDC as soon as possible.
