Insane Platform Dude demo

This is a simple platformer I've been working on in the past days. This demo includes the first 3 levels. The music is by Gerwin Kramer (Although on song is a remake of the song Ancient Lake from Diddy Kong Racing ).

It's just a simple platformer you walk with left and right arrow keys and jump with A. There are coins in every levels wich you can collect. There is also a bonus door and a secret item in every level.

I'm not still not really happy with level 3 and the boss sucks, but oke. Enjoy the demo!

The file is 15 MB, and is that big because of the music. Extract the zip and put everything in one map. Then click on ipd.exe to play! Good luck.

Ha ha, that was indeed insane. Good game/demo, love DKR music! Nice simple original looking graphics but I think my eyes hurt now though from the constantly changing backround colour- maybe tone that down a little!

Not as bad as i thought it would be. but like craig says the background is too much, especially when you consider the actual levels are not all that noticeable anyway.

You also might want to think about letting the player see below themselves by holding down, you've put loads of spikes below the player and i kept landing on them

"I use this machine to flatten my pancakes"

The sceneries and the characters are hilarious (in a good way), but the background fuckin' killed my eyes and level 4 was WAY too hard.

Still, this could get really good.

"and level 4 was WAY too hard."

I just started creating level 4, did you hack in my computer? I'll change the background in level 2 and create that you can look down. And I know these first levels aren't all that, but I'll try to also add variation with flying levels and levels which give you a power. And ofcourse different platforms. What did you think of the background in level 3?

Ok, I meant level 3. I got confused, since there are 4 red dots.

I knew this would be good! Very solid, great music. I'd have played more, but I really hate instant death :[ I got up to level 3. And I honestly didn't mind the seizure background

Very cool, keep at it!

This game is pretty good but Ive found two things you should change

the missiles don't shoot out then end of the cannon why is this?

whilst fighting the boss Ive found that if you stand right next to him (under his hat) and jump sometimes you'll fall straight through the floor!

also just a question... how are you supposed to kill the boss Ive tried everything jumping on him ,trying to make his home in missiles hit him. Nothing works!

Thanks, I'll fixed the cannon thing. And the boss is one of the things that still doesn't work well, I'm still busy fixing him...

the game is quite fun to play, but I (as an artist) see the graphics as a serious downer.. And Captian Andyman was right about being able to look down

Nice game, it reminded me of Stick Warrior. Like the other said, you should allow the player to look down. And the boss in level 3 is really awful. But that's a cool game.

In my opinion, you should have a lite version of this with no music. There really just wasn't enough game play to justify 14.5 MB of music.

It wasn't bad. I actually enjoyed it for a little bit. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

I had a few problems with it, though. I feel the difficulty increased too much with each new level. I also think the art is inconsistent. Your characters and levels are mostly the same style, but then the background is crappy looking (no offense). I just think the background's style should match the rest, you know.

All in all, nice job. Please continue it.
