This is a simple, customizable grid movement with all of behaviors, alterable values, and objects named for easy comprehension. The engine uses alterable values to move and 4 detectors to make sure you don't go through walls. All events are in the behaviors of the active "player". The players sprite is ripped straight from FFI for NES.

If you plan on using this engine, please give me (monkeytherat) credit.

How to use this engine:

WASD to move

Anything that you don't want your player to walk on should be an obstacle background. If you want to change the grid size, remember to go into both of the player's behaviors and change the 16 to the size of your new grid. If you have any questions, just PM me or post a comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Sounds good, i havent downloaded yet... But i just thought it might be a good idea too add a group type as a obstical aswell so you can collide with certain active objects. Like in an RPG you sometimes find walls, or doors that are closed, but at some point they may be open.. if you see what i meen.

Actually, to do that you just need to make a background type obstacle, and if you want to bump into actives, you can just make a transparent background. If by that you mean there should be a way to have something that can be open sometimes, then that is a good idea. I will update this with that.Would you like to be credited in the readme/ this page?

Ok, i will send you an email with the file. To make an active object solid, give it group behavia "0"
