Methinks the biggest problem with the community is simply that everyone wants to look out for themselves. You know, the whole thing where everyone thinks that they should use their own hand-crafted platform engine, draw their own friggin sprites, etc. Only good games I've seen made solo were the stuff from FA, but considering how their fans were the type who'd wave pitchforks and lock their idols in rooms, I'd say they were highly motivated.
The 2nd biggest reason is too much ambition, too little planning, and even less time. Most of you should know what I mean .
You know what... alliances have always brought me a lot more good than harm, and I think that with some pooled up time and effort, we could solve most of the problems out there. Heck, people might actually respect the Click Community instead of this pothole it's become.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
I hope people get over that. I give my sources to anyone who asks it, just so they can understand how I made it. Not cause I spend my time helping others, but I made it already, why not kill two birds with 1 stone.
We need to boost the KlikCommunity...but I'm already helping everyway I can, so everyone else get off your ass.
thinking is like pong, it's easy, but you miss sometimes.
I also enjoy making graphics for the fun of it. And I know that, even if the game doesnt get made and I feel disappointed or whoever I'm making the graphics for doesnt totally appreciate the work than atleast I had fun making them and it taught me a lot as far as graphics go (also teaches team skills no matter what youre doing in the group). Tis good practice.
I am willing to help in everyway I can, but I will only put time into something I think I can learn from (eg. animation) and something I'm actually interested in doing. I shouldnt be expected to spend a heap of time on something that Im not learning from or interested in or, in all liklihood will not get complete. So in that sense, I am selfish.
And not everyone is suited for group based work and theres nothing wrong with people learning the way things work if they want to or they'll get stuck relying on everyone else for the rest of their clicking experience, and THAT would get on the nerves of the most sharing people here.
'oh yeah? he's thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?'
