dude, xp is probably microsoft's biggest mistake,it runs 70 percent slower and takes 128 mbs out of ur ram just the os, I still use windows 98 and it runs way faster than xp.I hope the code named project longhorn will run better than shitxp, also xp's processor limit is 4.0 ghz, how stupid
XP pro works great for me, try right clicking on MMF and changing the compatability mode. MMF works fine, so it probably isn't XP, you may want to install MMF and check if any other programs are messing it up. Are you saying that you haven't downloaded SP2? You should download and install all updates before asking any questions.
Zim, I think it is comparativly slower to the advancements, and if you run it on a 98 machine it will suck for you. 128mb is nothing coming from a GB of ram.

On most computers Windows XP runs better and faster with SP2 installed. You also will get most of your leaks fixed, you might not know, but it's quite easy to get some spyware on your system without SP2 of the numerous securitylacks.
