I'm currently making a fighting engine that I hope will be used as sort of a fighting game with characters from the klik community. It was originally built to be like Marvel vs Capcom, but assists and tag-ins have become very buggy and demoralizing and are the only things stopping me from actually attempting to make a two-player engine. My question is, should I try to get past all of the bugs and make it tag-team, or should I just make it one-on-one?

Save it for the sequel. You might never make a sequel, but it'll make you feel better to say you're saving something than just omitting it.

I would sya you should start basic. Do it right and do it well. Once the game has a following, create a sequel and add in the extra modes like tag. I'm a firm believer in the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid} method of game design. Simple and effective is much better. Just a thought. And for the record that is an actual saying and I'm not calling you stupid. On another note, do you have a estimated release date yet? A good click fighting game would be really cool.

I don't have a predicted date for it yet. I've been extremely busy and will probably stay like that for a while. I also have another project to work on in addition to this one.
I'm currently building it as a single-player engine so that I could go on to two players and finish up the core. I may add tag-team in the future, though, or I may just restart the whole engine so that I can make it even more scriptable (right now it contains a few constants that are a bother to change).
