I need an idea for an ending for this 'futuristic fantasy' game. You know, a game in where elves wield rifles, goblins and dwarves work together in low-paying industries, dragons guarding their lairs with lasers, etc.

But now, I need some non-cliche ending. My brain's already strained enough thinking of a plotline for the somewhat mundane world... I'm not going through all that 'converting notes into articles' just to have the character destroy the world, destroy some fortress/base, resurrect an ancient god, save the world from a super evil, that kind of thing.

So... anyone have any ideas?

Make the maincharacter take the evil guy for a fishing trip. Maybe? Or they could go to Russia and buy some nice carpets?

No, sorry. Not a clue, i suck on storylines...

The bad guy uses his evil potion to make himself super fat, then while dancing on his tiny little knobby legs, they snap off and he falls and crushes the heroes, then is suffocated by his own weight. THAT'S never happened before.

Last time I had lobster, it reminded me of biology class. Except in biology class the professor didn't make you eat the frog when you were finished.

The hero was in deep trouble. After saving his home from the Big Threat, he is now escaping from his wife, whose trying to kill him and is also his mother. "I will kill you as I killed your brother in law", she says. The hero has one spell left in his gun. He move quikly around the corner, jump behind her, fire and... miss. The last spell hit the floor. "You missed" she says "You have carried that spell since you were born, and then you miss" She laughs mainiacly and don't notice the schandaler above her is starting to wiggle, and the screws are being unscrewed. "What spell do you actually think would have thrusted to my magic repelling armour" Suddenly the schandaler strikes upon her skull with furios power. The hero blow the fairy dust from his gun and say: "I choose the magnetism spell".
But now the ship is to explode. He is heading for the escape pod. 5 seconds left. OH no! The escape pod isn't calibrated. 2 seconds. He push the button anyway. The escape pods flies away out of reach for the critical explosion zone.
Monolouge:
Why I choose to avoid a quik death of a hero and instead drift around in space waiting for lack of neutrition, liquid or oxygen to take me, I don't know. Perhaps I though I deserved to live a litlle longer. Perhaps I was afraid of death. However, now when the only woman I ever loved is dead, I have nothing to live for anymore. But if I have learnt one thing from all this, it would be:
If you can live to make another creature happy, you know you haven't died in vain. Sometimes it's a friend (show a clip from the elven village when the elves climb out of their shelters) sometimes a stranger (show clip from dwarves walking out from their factories, howling in the air of happiness) maybe someone stupid (showing clip from the orc cave. The orc who stayed out and blocked the cave entrance on command is bashing his fist on the rock yelling "let me in! Let mwe in". Suddenly the rock start tilting and fell right on him. The other orcs step out and yelll "we live to see an other day") maybe someone smart (show clip where the chief elders of the dwarf and elf tribes are shaking hands) as long as you can feel you have made the slightest difference, you know that you can somethingsomething.
Show clip were the escapepod is drifting away in the eternal space.
The End

Maybe you can use some ideas from this. I guess the monolouge can be a litlle more original.

The bad guy ends up being the future version of the good guy so to win he has to sacrifice himself. Sounds quite original to me.

Start with the world building. The rest will come from there. An original setting makes it very difficult to make anything else unoriginal.

Another thing though: the usual concept of elves, dwarves and orcs comes straight from Tolkien. There's no reason you can't have them, but things will certainly feel more original if you fuck with the preconceptions a bit.

Nikodemus is overflowing with pure genious! He is like a creative fountain of youth amidst a field of charred broken wasteland. I like the part with the orcs in particular.

Nikodemus, what happens if the main character happens to be female?

The world has already been built. It's been built 5 years ago. And maybe that's one of the main problems.. I need to modify it a bit someday. It's become some big, dark, mundane world.

Hmm... nice ideas, Nikodemus & Ben. Good idea for the boss battles. Maybe I'll find some way to merge Phizzy and Nikodemus's endings. Any other ideas?
