Does this happen in MMF?

It's probably your computer's fault. Maybe it's the hardware, or the background software, or... something. Only two solutions:
1. Get MMF.
2. Contact Clickteam and ask if they could update (but don't think that will ahppen).
Also try using Compatability Modes, they often fix problems with old software.
If you don't know how to use them, right click on your TGF icon, and go into Properties, then Compatability, and try the different versions of Windows compatability modes, it makes Windows XP pretend it's an earlier version of Windows for older software.
Also don't bother asking Clickteam to update TGF, because they won't.

I'm using service pack 2.

Ye your best chance is trying to run it under the compatibility thingie, but i personaly have never had any troubles with tgf like everyone else. Also have you made sure you have all the updates and such for it? Also make sure you have the latest dll in your system32 in your windows directory!!
Try removing cncs.dll, cncs32.dll and cncs232.dll from your windows\system32 folder then re-install TGF. I had a very similar problem to the one you've described and that fixed it.
Definately make sure you run it under compatability modes like I said earlier, you'd be surprised how often that fixes problems. And also, make sure it's the 32-Bit version of TGF, not the 16-Bit.

I'll try to run it under compatability. Also I'm using 32-bit not 16-bit. I'll also try to remove the cncs.dll etc. files. I have the latest patches installed already.
Btw, is there a discount from upgrading from TGF pro to MMF standard?

I don't think so: you would have bothTGF and MMF, then.
