ive heard of these sorts of games where you choose a woman and then you can take her out to various places and use certain chat up lines and stuff, or ones where you are a photographer and you, well take pitures of models. Quirky jap only sorts of things really.
I started making a klik ren'ai game once. Never finished it though. Got bored with doing the graphics for the girls. True, they just stand there and look at you, but I was trying to keep them really high-quality.
I'd be up for a compo. I wouldn't make a serious entry (well, it'd be a proper entry, just wierd) but it sounds like a chance to do something a lot different from the usual.
LOL. I tried to make one, but couldn't decide what to put in it. Besides, my gf would laugh her head off if she heard that I was making a dating sim .
So I worked on a game called The Newbie instead. Unlike what the name implies, it's nothing like The Apprentice.. worked on it years before that show came out. It was some text-based game about being a newbie in the community, where you had to practice your skills, get fans and helpers, get publicity, etc. There were these stats like niceness and social ability, which determines your needs and what kind of people like you. But I scrapped it coz I couldn't figure out how to do the damn conversation engine, without taking up too many events.

No, it should definitely be dating sims-only for the simple fact that there aren't any yet. If you broaden the format, you'll just end up getting a bunch of romance-themed puzzle, action, and top-down shooter games, and there are 4 million of those on here already. Just make a dating sim mini-comp like the giant robot game competition, and if nobody but Radix and I enter, well, what have you really lost? If anybody enters anything overtly porographic, you suspend them just as if they'd posted porn in the forums.
Actually, I'd just disqualify the entry. But I dont' think I'd post the games until I posted the results that way I could be sure of no porn. Heh, I'll have to think about it.
Chances are there'd be cheat codes to unlock all that x-rated stuff
