I've got an engine done, and I want to make a platforimg game; but I don't want to rip graphics, and I suck at making my own. So I need an artist, but the artist will have lots of input into the game, like I said, I've got an engine, but that's about it for now, and I think that the gameplay needs to be fitting for the graphical stlye. So if any artist are interested, post here with an example of your work and I'll link you to the basic engine.
I'll handle all the coding, you artists out there wouldn't even need to touch the code if you didn't want to.

I should expand a bit on my previous post, I posted this as Marioish platformer, but in reality that's not true. That's just what it is at the moment, but again, the graphics will have a bearing on the final gametype, so artist if you have sprites lying around that you have been wanting to put in a game, then by all means post here. I'm not adverse to doing a megaman, castlevania, metroid like game, I just need the graphical support to do so. If anyone has ideas then go ahead and post here.

Hey, I might be interested, I have some fantasy-ish platform monster/characters which you could use, and I might be able to whip up some more if you need it.

If you are to use these, I would like it if I would get the engine, so maybe I can look into creating a game for my own later on.

@Tobbe - Do you want a hand in the development in this game, or do you just want to do graphics?

sorry if it took awhile to answer, been busy. I would like to have a hand in, though if you want to do it alone I understand. Would be cool to be a bigger part of the project though.

Well, lets start off with this first question, should the main character have a weapon of some type? Those GFX remind me a bit of Castlevania. Or should we go for a straight mario style game.

Well, It all depends on the setting/how the main character looks. I would also say that from the look of the graphics, I would say that the main character neds a weapon, either a blade or spells or something like that.

I've got an Associates of Occupational Studies Degree in graphic design. But it takes too long while for me to make graphics. If there is no copy right smack down then go for it...
