I think at times, group projects can actually be pretty difficult. Obviously myself, I've never had first hand experience at this, as I've always insisted I work alone (although for a while I was in a group called Left Behind Inc, which also featured the co-creator of the V-Real game "LeapFrog", before I wanted out).
There is so much to consider - most notably the time zones, and the locations. Some groups can "kind of" prove this works, as in the case of The Peasants, with Bernard And Hank (although I think towards the end of dev. half the team dropped out). Eternal Daughter proved to be a successful result of a partnership - but not necessarily a group project. I rarely see group projects succeed with all the initial members involved from start to finish, so in a strange, demented kind of way, I actually agree with Dogzer.
Klik teams may sometimes be hard to work, on the other hand there are a lot of good trades, like companionship, all the fun times we cook up ideas, etc.
It is true CrobaSoft have not released a game yet that was actually made by more than one member, but even we learn to be better all the time, and I dare our reputation by stating that we will have at least one game released in 2005 created by more than one member ...
*UPDATE*
Btw. to complement Wart, we are not really desperate to get more members, it should be seen as an oppotunity if someone wishes to join a team
How about we get two studios together and put our heads together for an online MMORPG. hang on, why don't we ALL at The Daily Click get together and produce a free mmorpg using MooClick Game and Socket and MMF 1.5. Okay to start with obviously thing will be confusing. But if someone takes charge and delegates tasks to individuals, I think we could get a great project going on. Then again maybe not, maybe it will be down to DataString Studios to make the mmorpg, either way expect the unexpected.
I almost joined crobasoft, but taco is never on msn anymore...so i said screw it...
for a couple reasons:
i}'.tk' (no more needed to say)
ii}team programming is HARD, understanding your own code sometimes is hard enough and really all i can offer is programming ability, and maybe mp3 music.
iii}you gotta convince me why i would wanna work under the name 'crobasoft'
thinking is like pong, it's easy, but you miss sometimes.
Yeah, I wanna join. I'm good at writing music, writing cool software engines, and most other kinds of writing you can think of. (Though I don't really like poetry)
Seriously though, I wanna join. I want to be part of a community in making a game, not just looking at them. Email me.
Copy this to your hard drive. It will be worth alot when I'm famous.
Notice: Spelling mistakes above left in for people who need to correct others to make their life fulfilled.
No i think making music is game´s foundation.
Music is most important piece. The next piece is graphics&design with suited sfx.
Coding can be perfect but this isnt important for players.
Think on it fast game or good game? Which?
