The Mac architecture is pretty impressive - from what I've seen, they utilise their processors and resources a lot better than the PC architecture does. Also, I've never seen a PC laptop whose batteries last longer than about six months before becoming completely unusable (though this might be down to incredible bad luck).
However, the problem: I dislike the Mac OS interface - it's certainly pretty to look at, but I just find Windows easier to find my way around. Also, Multimedia Fusion doesn't work on Macs, and I'm yet to find a decent music tracker.
One last point, even though it is rather childish: The one button mice. Particularly the mice which are like one gigantic button, so that you have to hover your hand uncomfortably over them to avoid clicking by mistake. This is easily corrected by using a USB scroll wheel mouse (which I'm definitely getting Whitney some day).
That's all, I think. I'm not sure why there is such a huge anti-Windows movement - it's popular because it's easy and it works.
The thing with Mac is that it has less hardware for it so it can afford to utilise it better - Windows still has to support older devices from the 95 days - and the hardware it has needs to go through Apple (not 100% on that). PCs can be built by anyone who knows their ATX from their PCI and battery life varies between makes, as does component quality...
Macs are a lot more intuitive from my very limited experience with them. The one button mice are weird but that's because they're different, and how do you avoid accidentally clicking a two button mouse? (Relying on the inevitable stiffness of the right mouse button is not a valid option.) It's no different in my experience, but I don't like mice anyway - and the pointing pads even less. Bring back trackballs on laptops!
Windows has got easier with XP, but I'm not 100% convinced that it 'works'. It's certainly not as secure as Linux, for example, (unless you're an idiot who ignores the golden rule and logs on as root all the time,) but it has all the software and all the games, and all the media attention. But why do people hate it? Go to www.microsuck.com and read for yourself.
Having said that though, if you have to go Windows, get XP service pack 2, and make sure you've got a fair amount of memory because it easily takes 100MiB of it just for itself. (Even on the Classic skin!)
The thing about linux and mac is that its COMPLETLY BORING!, in the normal community and you tell someone you use linux or mac they will think you are a loser, maybe not with mac because its starting to get there but linux is something people hate.
just what you said makes you a bigger idiot than me. i said i would never agree with zimtower again. then i said "Zim" (the show and all its glory) was still cool. unless im mistaken i never said tower. it seems today that nobody writes (me included) or reads anything correctly anymore. this cant lead to anything good.
Shut up, you're sounding stupider. If you mean Invader Zim, say 'Invader Zim.' If you mean Zimtower, say 'moron.' I don't care which you mean, just stop talking.
