I thought it may be a good idea to remake say Tops the pig 2 or lost island dizzy taking out the ripped midis and added a brand spanking new custom engine. It probably wouldnt take long since they are quite simple games that are already planned and have all the graphics intact.
I always thought there was a good game lurking in all my old games but they were restricted by my lack of experience with click products.
I often have - particularly my earliest unreleased games, which had (in my view) some great ideas but were made very poorly indeed.
Another Adventure Game, the project that I made during one of my last years at school, has an incredible amount of things that could have been done better - it's been in a developmental limbo so long that I want to keep making changes to it rather than releasing it. One day, though...
In a way every sequel is a remake, so yeah. I've got a couple of sequels I've been meaning to make. Kaiser Kitty 2 for example will just be more of the same, with improved everything.
I have worked on Riot 3 for over a year probably, but it has evolved from Riot 2, and Riot 2 evolved from Riot 1. Riot 2 had like the other people here, great ideas incredibly shoddingly made.
i always 're-vamp' old ideas which i gave up, like i made a platformer called escape once with library graphics, and then a year or so on after learning to draw pixel stuff i re-did the game with my own graphics n better programming skills.
Ive already started making an engine for Tops 2 remake however the level design was a little shoddy too so it may even simply be a new Tops game. Maybe i will release a demo/test to find out what people think before going for a full game.
ive only made about 3 or 4 games and theyve never even made it to the site cause i redid them so many times. and then i abandon them to make another better idea and remake that one acouple times and move on. hopefully i wont have an idea through at least one game.
I've remade the Zombies Now engine three times now, if that counts. I first did the engine on TGF, then I got MMF and remade it to take advantage of the new MMF stuff, then a few months ago I saw what a mess the original code was and remade it from scratch.
I'm currently remaking old KnP Games I made some time ago. Tank Battle you might have read about in Solitaire Club (I searched someone to make it run in network/online whatever). I released it once, and the ratings were 50% so I went back to rework it with MMF. The other one is C.M. Adventures, a Platformer with much violence and nudity (for that reason it got never released, at least not at the DC, I don't know how harsh the rules are). Now with scrollings and everything redrawn. I plan having a playable version of the first level in a few days from now...
