Is there anyone who knows whether the 1.06 update for TGF is the newest one? I've had 1.06 for years and yet it's the only one avaliable for download on the Clickteam site.
There are just so many things that 1.06 can't handle, like one of the most useful features - groups. I have four different badguys and they're all in the Group.Enemies, but still TGF only reacts on one of them. For example if I want to check whether "Object A" overlaps a Group.Enemy it only says "True" if Enemy#2 is overlapped, but it doesn't notice the overlap for Enemy#1,3,4... That's crappy.
TGF can't check for a specific (copy of a given) object being in a certain zone, it can only scan the zone and check how many copies of the object is in there, and not even that is possible to do in a good way. There isn't a "Set counter to "number of 'Object#1' in zone XYXY"" action. Instead you have to do it this way: "If the number of objects in zone XYXY = 1, set counter to 1" and so on. That sucks.
And why on earth can you only make 16 color icons for your games? Why can't you keep midi-music playing when you jump between levels? Why isn't mp3 supported? Why do TGF (and MMF) games run terribly slow on XP?
...and so on and so on... I've got tons of little extremely useful things that wouldn't be hard at all to implement, but yet they are missing in TGF. So, is there a more recent update somewhere? If there isn't, what do I do? I'll be very happy for tips of all kinds! =

No, that's not what I meant. I'm not talking about MMF here. I'm looking for an update of TGF that's newer than the 1.06 version. Is there any? Thanks anyway!

Clickteam don't update TGF any more. It was released some time around 1995-1996 and since then, Clickteam have moved on to Multimedia Fusion, the next generation version of the product. You really should upgrade to MMF if you want to make use of the latest technologies like Directshow and also benefit from regular patches and bug fixes.
CT don't update TGF in the same way Microsoft don't update Windows 3.1 any more. The older stuff becomes obsolete and unsupported. And CT is a small company who don't have the resources to keep both TGF and MMF alive.

When you bought TGF you would have agreed that it was provided "as is". Clickteam are under no obligation to support it. If you want increased functionality I'd suggest an upgrade to MMF. You can get a discount if you email Jeff with your TGF keycode.

You can get midis to continue playing across frames, look in the mci object. (is that the right name?)
groups do work but i don't know how to get them to always work.
for a lot of what you asked there is usually a work around but it is better to get MMF instead.

Depending on the release date, it may be best to wait until the new MMF comes out. I've heard it's a little more like TGF was.

Am I the only one that laughed at Destroyer, then laughed even louder at Foldalake for being completely oblivious to being pwn3d?

Version 1.06 is the latest TGF version. Not like it's gonna be changed anyway.

Well, I would have been owned if I bought TGF yesterday and didn't know of MMF until now... But the thing is that I've had TGF since it was released and just wanted to know if there were any newer update of it. I'm asking because some of the games I've been working on lately would feel a lot better if some of the stuff i mentioned earlier were implemented in TGF.
But this TGF2 sounds really interesting! Where can I read more about it? Any price set yet? Release?

There's no info on the MMF2 series (MMF2 will come in Standard, Pro, and TGF2 versions). They'll be done when they're done.
Fact of the day: MCI is an obsolete technology from 16 bit Windows 3.1 days, kind of like DirectX's predecessor, supported only for backwards compatibility. Using it is kind of risky as at any point MS could drop support for it.
