Everyone knows how to make a custom platform engine these days. There's even that platform object that comes with one of the Bonus Packs. But those engines mostly work on individual things. Trying to use them on all objects with the same qualifier causes all the other objects to follow the first (ie. everything else only falls when the first object falls).

The question now is, how do I make a universal platform engine? I want an engine where all the objects in (Group 1) falls using the same platform engine. I think I saw some kind of "ultimate platform engine" used in a game with some furry things, but back then, I just got MMF and didn't understand it.

So, any suggestions?

Every game is different and will have different needs. Whilst a single ultimate platform engine is a very elegant sounding solution, everyone will probably end up tweaking it anyway.

That would be the Baastian De Jong Ultimate Platform Movement - and yes, I still have it on my hard drive

Everything falling using the same engine?
Like, being able to apply physics and movement to an object just by giving it a qualifier?

Yeah, it's possible. It just takes a lot of finagling, and getting around the touchy group behaviors.

...I hate to seem like I'm plugging, but:

Oh, well, I don't have the original engine, with the Furry type character, but I stole it for when I planned to make Sleep Dreams 2 (so expect horrible graphics)

All the features are intact, however. I'll email it to you on Wednesday perhaps or Tuesday evening.

This uses a qualifier, if you apply it to an object it will have platform physics.

Flags 1-4 will be set on and off depending on what side walls it is touching, so you can make your own movements with it pretty easily.
