Yes you read it correctly, the whole movie has been leaked to the net, and can now be found on certain dodgy sites, although its the Japanese version of the film there are apparantly English subtitles available for it. Square Enix must be incredibly pissed off now.
I've seen it, my friend got it. Quality was Xvid and the sound was good. No idea how they got a hold of it though. I was pretty surprised when he said he had it.
only problem is you need to download new subs, but they're everywhere. the file i downloaded at least only had japanese subtitles. just tried it out streaming to my TV and the quality is superb. bang on DVD quality.
I've just seen it with English subs. I think the begining of the film is done quite badly, the bad guys are introduced very early and stuff. But near the end it's really good. And there's tonnes of fight scenes, which are all awsome
Before Crisis (mobile phone rpg game about the turks)
Crisis Core (RPG for the psp)
Dirge of Cerberus!!! (3rd person shooter starring vincent for the ps2!)
its rather humorous that Square haven't ejaculated anything since FFVII. so what do they do? 3 more games and a movie! "we're not washed up!"
I saw the film some days ago and didn't like it that much. it was nothing that FF is all about. the fight scenes were interesting, the story was severely lacking and the ending. well... the love heart shaped water and the clichéd 'dead guys' fading into light was a bit shitty. the big weapon fight was brilliant though.
not really. everything just ends up like at the end of the game. the same people are dead, only mr.'roth comes back and dies all over again... plenty of folk round my parts don't like the story at all. me included.
its nothing more than glorified graphical fan service. if you like it; smashing. but thats my take on it.
You may as well switch off when it comes to the story (for the most part). In fact, switch your brain off altogether - you won't be needing it. As Jimmi said, "it's nothing more than glorified graphical fanservice". Honestly, some/most of the stuff the characters do would make Neo from the Matrix proud. I hate to say it...but much like Matrix Revolutions, the sheer absurdity of it all just washed over me after a while, as my suspension of disbelief was tested ever further. I'm well aware this is fantasy, but the characters may as well be robots rather than human beings.
So...yeah, I didn't enjoy it much in the end. And yes, I have played all the way through FF7. More times than I care to count =P
