i love that its a really simple to use video editing suite. easy to copy and paste multiple videos with multiple codecs into one final file.
also one of the fastest rendering software i've used, lightning fast at converting an AVI to DivX or H.264. and that Quicktime Pro comes with DivX Pro at no extra cost (which is fairly expensive).
and that it takes up a miniscule amount of memory (7mb here) compared to other video players.
that you can record video and audio through it, instead of using the usual cheap badly translated apps that come with webcams.
AND the fact its the only H.264 (aka, teh uber new video format) exporter available to the public.

...and that it supports all the major video and audio codecs

Quicktime movies always seem to be massive in size compared to WMAs or DivX's of the same quality.

"Quicktime movies always seem to be massive in size compared to WMAs or DivX's of the same quality."

I've found it to be quite the contrary, unless you're using Quicktime 6 (which only has H.263, the common old QT format) then DivX will be much better quality for the same bitrate. but with H.264 vs. DivX on the same bitrate; H.624 has a much higher quality. found this out when i did that Satansam trailer. i encoded the uncompressed AVI to DivX, WMV and H.264 at a bitrate of 1600kps. H.264 is the clear winner, WMV is extremely close and DivX just couldn't handle the dark colours.

just my findings

You're missing a codec. Just download a codec pack or something.
I usually download the Nimo Codec Pack, but that was a while ago it might be a bit outdated, not sure. Look for it on google.

thinking is like pong, it's easy, but you miss sometimes.

a quicktime movie can stream or you pause it and the whole movie will download and you can play it then and go back and stuff. thats cool
nullsoft streams dont work like that

I use quicktime only when I have to. I like good ol' Windows Media Player.
Quicktime does have some nice editing features though, I guess, sorta, not really.
