They said they're adding Toad and Wario because of a poll they ran. I've got no clue what kind of attacks toad would have, but whatever. I can't wait for the online play!
Shiek is the best, but Zelda is lame. They should throw some Resident Evil characters in the new one. Since Capcoms been releasing the RE games on gamecube.
c'mon...everyone knows that falco is the most balanced character...he's just as good as fox except for the speed! his jump is higher, his gun actually has knock-back, and he's just all-around easier to control than fox. ooh, that over+a smash roundhouse kick...
yeah tho, the characters they DO need to add in the next SSB game are:
-DIDDY KONG (ahhh...)
-PACMAN
-MEGAMAN
-SONIC
-METAKNIGHT
...but one thing is for sure. NOT WARIO OR WALUIGI. Those faggots ruin every game they're in...grr...
Why would Pacman or Megaman be in the next Smash Bros? take a look at the characters in the game already; they're Nintendo characters (HAL is just another room in the Nintendo HQ). Waluigi would be a good addition. He'd be powerful, slightly heavy. a good contender for Captain Falcon or the Fire Emblem crew.
It is like Tekken, if Tekken was fun.
The 3 starter pokemon from Ruby will definitely be in there. Smash Bros Melee has all the starters from previous Pokemon games.
I'm fairly sure HAL and CREATURES aren't 2nd-party, just very close with Nintendo, and Silicon Knights isn't anymore. Whether the newer Pokemon (as opposed to the originals, which Nintendo would retain ownership over) are under Nintendo's control I don't know.
However, Capcom and Namco have developed Zelda and Starfox games respectively, which are big-title Nintendo franchises. There's no reason to think that they wouldn't necessarily allow use of their characters. I seriously doubt Pacman though, since he's not really associated with the NES. But there's at least a chance of Megaman. Hopefully not the gay battle network version though.
I'll be suprised if Sonic isn't in it. Yeah, he's about as far from a Nintendo character as you can get, but Sega are good guys now and fans would cream themselves over a Mario vs. Sonic matchup.
"Why would Pacman or Megaman be in the next Smash Bros?"
While Pacman was my own personal idea, I realized that he really wouldn't have any useful moves, and would probably suck as a character. And I think he's owned exclusively by Namco (but I'm not sure).
MEGANMAN, however...how can you even question that? They NEED new characters in the next game, and it's just as logical to put Megaman in it as it is to put Sonic in it, if not MORE logical. Nintendo still has some rights to Megaman, and if he's not in it, less-cool characters like Wario and Waluigi will replace him.
Now Sonic...there's an amazing contender. His controls would be so incredibly natural, it's insane. For instance, his DOWN+B would definitely have to be the rolling spin charge move, and maybe his NEUTRAL+B would be like a coin toss or something, idk...but he definitely needs to make an appearance in this game. Not Jeff or Paula.
(for the above comments
...and yeah, Kirby majorly sucks in Melee. I was AMAZING with him in the original SSB (his OVER+A smash attack and DOWN+A air attacks were phenomenal), but he just got weaker, lighter, and maybe even slower in Melee. It's a BIG disappointment to me, especially that his RUNNING+A attack suddenly lost it's knockback and control.
Idk if you guys here have seen that list that was written by Japanese SSB pro's, but it says the "best" character in the game was Sheik, second and third best were like Fox and Peach (not respectively, i forget), and Ganondorf and Falco were up there, too. The 3 worst characters were Mewtwo, Bowser, and *gasp* Kirby! Haha, this really doesn't mean the characters are the BEST, but hey, the pro's made it, so it shows which characters have the most POTENTIAL for being dominating.
MEGANMAN, however...how can you even question that?
Nobody thinks it wouldn't be cool, it's just that Nintendo needs to have permission or the rights to a character in order to use it in a game, and Megaman belongs to Capcom.
Come to think of it, Sonic's spin move means they'd probably make him a clone character of Yoshi. Ahahahaha.
HAHA boy that would suck...it's sad tho, because he could be. Except for turning people into eggs, lol. But instead of egg throw, it could be RING TOSS! And instead of egg rollout like you said it could be spin move! And you could even have a BOING-HA down+B move like yoshi's, except have sonic say something cool and stab people with his spikes on the way down. haha!
I dont know about Kjarom and his sources here, but I'm sure I heard Mewtwo was the hardest to get used to but one of the best fighters in the game. I can do the 100 man melee with him, blindfolded if need be. He just takes a lot of time and skill to get used to.
Sonic will never be in Smash Bros. You can spout on about Sega working with Nintendo all you want but he won't be in Smash Bros Melee. it could be nice but it would feel too detached from the rest of the game. Seriously, imagine playing a 2D sonic game, the physics are so different from Smash Bros. Maybe its just me but I cant imagine him sitting comfortably in the next Smash Bros. Same for Megaman. Especially when he's pretty similar to Samus.
Realistically I can imagine at least 2 Advance Wars CO's, green/red Koopa troopers, Giga Bowser (opening up the possibility for 'extreme power' characters, Ganon could be in there too), Toad... meh s'all I can think of right now.
My sources are EXTREMELY reliable, right off the bat I'm going to assume that you've never heard of "tiers". Mewtwo has one of the lowest tiers. Some characters are more balanced than others, naturally...it is impossible for that not to happen. But Mewtwo has slow moves and his roll is crap. The only 3 things good about him are his aerial forward+a, shadow ball, and his wavedash. He is overall a lower tier character. I know a ridiculous amount of SSBM, so don't even try to sound like you know more than I do in that category.
About Sonic though, it wouldn't feel THAT different. I mean, all of the characters in their respective games prior to SSB had a different "feel", didn't they? Nintendo just blends the "feels" into a giant mixing pot of "feels".
Oh, and besides Megman's Blaster, he really isn't similar to samus
It'd be cool to have extreme powers. But they should be limited like one 5 stock or somethin. Good call on the characters, tho.
