Whenever this lovely little extension is run on my computer, it sounds as though the mod being played is also being run through some sort of digital garbage disposal. This happens both when I'm trying to add the extension to my own game, or playing somebody else's compiled game (containing the object) on my computer. It always sounds quite unbearable. And I know that there's nothing wrong with the mod files, as they play fine through Winamp.

So, what's up with that? Does ModFX 3 require a particular .dll that I've never gotten my hands on? Does it require a specific version of Windows, maybe (I'm running 98,)? Does it require a fast enough computer (mine's really old)? And if it's one of the latter two, should I really use an extension that won't run properly in certain cases?

Anyone have some answers?

Oddness indeed. You can password protect Welschel Sound Format files, and then they'd sound like a digital garbage disposal unit if played when protected, but somehow it seems like, for you, it's been carried over to mods... I'd suggest contacting Mr Welschel (I hate spelling that guys surname)... your best bet to find him is to send him a PM at the Clickteam forums.
