I've been making a drawing engine, and I wanted to have it compare what you drew and the real drawing commands. This would allow whatever you draw to do something. The only problem is that I cannot figure out how to get String Parser 2 to compare 2 strings. I NEED HELP!

What?

You don't need string parser 2 to compare two strings, just use 'compare two general values' under special conditions

I know, I wanted to return the number of differences. Wait, does String Parser 2 do that?

@Peblo: Yeah, but yours isn't really very good, I did get the idea to restart my old project (It's a Draw Game Engine) from Colors II. The new It's a Draw engine is fullscreen, has changable accuracy, is easy to implement into games, is a FREE GAME ENGINE, has closest match finding (what I need help with), and more.

@DaVince: Global Actions?

Yeah, like right-click the 'global actions' icon or something (the monitor) and it says "compare two general values" in there.

I know that, I want to retreive the number of differences between 2 texts. I know that the string comparing object does that, but it's only for TGF and CNC, so that doesn't work for me.

Hmmm... I don't know if string parser 2 can do that. You could also try running a fastloop, comparing each letter in the two sentences or something.

String Manipulator:
http://www.clickteam.info/extensions/extview.php?id=28

I think that can do it, it's a very powerful extension which can do all sorts of things, such as remove certain characters from a string and find & replace characters.

@Phizzy: How?

@Assault Andy: The link is broken. What's Tigerwork's new site again?
@Aggggge: I could do that, but I want to find out if there is an easier way first.

I found www.Nozsoft.co.uk and downloaded the object, and it works just fine. Thanks Assault Andy.

EDIT: I just submitted It's a Draw and I am waiting for the admins to put it on the downloads page.
