Not really sure which forum this belongs in, so might as well post it on the one that people like to look at .
I've got some very good plans on making an online RPG-like game, but the problem is... I don't exactly have the skills/time for it just yet. So, would anyone know any good tutorials on making a MUD/MU*-like game? You know, those text-based online RPGs. I could probably do an online game in MMF, but all those events, work on gfx, special effects, etc would mean that I'd have little more than an online arena-style game. Besides, text-based worlds have a lot of flexibility for user-added content, the main advantage of my design.
BTW, if anyone wants to help, it's welcome, but this early on, a team might only get in the way of my plans..

Are you asking for an alternate program to make a Mud in besides MMF?
I'm asking for ANY program/language to make it. Heck, I'd do it in MMF if I was desperate enough to learn to use the strings. But if I had the time to figure out how to make a text-based game in MMF, then I wouldn't be coding the Combatant Test Engine in C++ .

Well, you could do one in Sphere, the JavaScript-based RPG creator... Sphere's flexible enough to let you make games ranging from simple 3D games to text-based games... And it has online functionality.
