Yeah, a bunch of scientists are playing around with far too powerful Magnetic Fields. I can't remember where, but they're basically just seeing if the theory is viable. They expect to have an answer in about 5 years.

Eugh, the hyperspace thingy was awful. Nothing wrong with fringe science, but it's based on the theories of one guy (who has been ignored for 50 years, probably for good reason), and the article made it sound like it was realistic. You can't use the word 'hyperspace' that many times in a science article and not be full of it.
The head of NASAs experimental propulsion thingy division had to issue a statement saying he doesn't know anything about this and telling people not to get their hopes up, because the supporters haven't even done basic testing yet and it's based on theories that were originally discarded by their author.
