I was reading another thread about using the MCI object to play midis and it all seems to make sense except for the "Device Name" under its setup. In the other thread it said enter 'midsequencer' into the device name box.. Ive tried that over and over and it wont work, and I always get the same message during the start of the frame, which is "the specified device is not open or recognized by MCI"

Im really crappy at this type of thing and was wondering if anyone could help me out.

Hmm, I don't know a thing aboit MCI, and I want to. Somebody should write a good article covering everything to do with MCI, any volunteers?

EDIT: oh, i just realised that there already is one.
EDIT2: hey wait, you're typing the wrong thing, it's not midsequencer, it's just sequencer (I may have spelled that wrong).

On the microsoft website there is a lot of information about MCI, the commands and the names of the programs that support it.

MCI is a hangover from the days of Windows 3.1. I don't think there's any merit in using it nowadays.
