Worked fine for me in Paint. Make sure you have the image selected (usually automatically selected as soon as you paste it) and goto Stretch/Skew and change the top values to 50%.
I thought it was "neat" and I want you to tell me how you did that.
strange, I guess you really need to have photoshop. Might be difficult to just alter your monitor. Its not an interesting hidden image.
Anyway, it works like this:
see the black spots? well, they are not totally black, all the black spots form another image when brightness and contrast is just right.
If you make a pattern that is totally opposite of the black pixel pattern, you'll also see the image, but it will appear really dark, so you might want to adjust the contrast.
what is this good for...? Idunno. you can leave porn on your mothers deskop and she wouldn't be able to see it.
Your way still isn't working for me. MAGIC EYE (STEREOGRAMS) IS THE BEST WAY TO PUT HIDDEN MESSAGES IN IMAGE FILES. Animated Magic eyes are awsome too, take www.keatontech.com/SKTLME.gif for example.

The font is different. I can see.
@AndyUK: with the first image, don't view in IrfanView fullscreen. Just press the minus key five times.
The second one has to be made smaller five times and viewed fullscreen.
LOL... Phart... I must have looked at that image for an hour and all i could make out was a cinder block with a suction cup on the bottom of it. Then suddenly it was like a revelation and i realized it was a monitor!!! i think...
