Well it would seem that Shawn64 (Creator of the Jetz Series of games) died of an apparent suicide. While not particularly relevant to klik, Shawn was a upper echelon member of the Game Maker community, and pretty well known throughout the freeware world. Such a shame.

I remember playing Jetz 4. Pity we won't be seeing more games from him, but like Phizzy I can't feel bad for a suicide.

I could probably feel bad for a suicide, but I can't feel bad for someone I didn't know.

No. Death is a tragedy because it's unecessary or unavoidable. Suicide is elected. Everyone has the right to kill themselves if they want to, and it's disrespectful to say you're sad when it's something the suicide wanted.
Obviously the circumstances aren't usually pleasant, and I can empathise with that, but unless you had some relationship with the person manufacturing an emotional response is just wrong.
Like I say, it's a shame we wen't see anymore games from him.

I didn't ssay I was feeling sad. I was thinking about the individuals relatives and likewise's. I won't argue with you mucvh motre than just say that if the only thing going through your mind is that you won't get more games from that person is extremely egoistic and idiotic. If that's the case, most of the respect you've gained for me blew away just now (seriously, you are one of the most reasonable persons here.) if i'm wrong. please tell me. i'm going to sleep now. g 'night

I don't feel any emotion for the guy at all. Suicide is the last resort in which a person feels he/she has no other option but to give up, and it affects loved ones and the people who have to find the body and clear the mess up. It messes with heads and it's extremely selfish. Suicide is the easy way out - to avoid responsibility.
Besides which, we shouldn't feel emotion for the guy because as Radix said, we didn't know him, and if we felt upset at every single suicide (or felt that we SHOULD be upset) then we'd be having loads of crying sessions every single day. He's not the be all or end all for human beings and doesn't deserve to be mourned by strangers.

Hm, this reminds me of Mitchell Lee Stuekerjuergen, who also killed himself due to some problems.
