This is really an extension of a previous post. Going back a good few years I discovered a 'Life rule' (well actually two rules) that generates complex cave maps (all unique). The great thing about it is that you can cut and paste parts of the image (using the excellent 'Life32' freeware program) to shape the maze of tunnels as you go.
I'm in the process of making a scrolling maze game to show what it might look like and this would coincide with an article in detail (if I get time) of how to make your own. Does this sound interesting to anyone?
By the way, to those who read my earlier post, I gave up trying to find software to convert 2D (overhead view) cave maps to 3D (walk through).
