This wallpaper came from an idea of mine that I thought of. What if the moon was inhabited like Earth was? What if the moon had an atmosphere that supported trees, plants, and had oceans? How would the Earth look from the moon if it was like this? So I decided to pop up Max and give it a shot. Personally, I think it turned out better than expected. Any opinions? Thanks.
True, but looking closer at the earth in the picture, you can notice that the land is familiar... being that it’s Earth, but yeah. You have a point, it could go either way, my idea was simply to do it Moon to Earth, hence the reason Earth is in the background, and not a moon with oceans and green land.
Yeh the whole "designed by:" thing ruins the fact its a wallpaper - I may have used it if that wasn't there. Sorry I just don't want your name on my desktop

Very True. It ruins a wallpaper when the author puts his name in big letters on it. Besides from that, I think the Earth is a little too bright.
Earth's albedo is about 0.4 (I learned this from carmen sandiego) so the brightness is fine, but it's too spherical. The sun isn't a point source, it's much larger than the earth so it should look as flat from the moon as the moon looks from earth.
You could make it smaller and put it completely in the bottomright corner (not above it), so my Start Menu covers it up when I make it my wallpaper, but not when it's viewed on a page
Looks quite nice. I agree with the name being uneeded and too large.
also I doubt you would be able to see the land so clearly from space, let alone as far away as the moon. Unless it was REALLY clear that day over the America's
I think it's really nice - I don't think the whole "reality" thing people are on about above matters really, considering the moon doesn't even have water. So I think its nice and makes you imagine a bit I'd love to see the Earth from the moon anyway
The reality is that it’s not reality; it’s basically a blend of Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Kind of shocks me that very few people are seeing that here. The overall idea is just that, it was an idea that I thought of and decided to bring to 3D so I can share it with other people. Kind of stinks that so far, only 1 person here is actually seeing that.
Real constructive criticism: you stars look really clumpy, especially around the earth. I think there are too many of them. Also, they overlap the water. And the earth shouldn't shine how it currently does, flatten it.

Constructive criticism:
Earth is too shiny; looks like you've just added a bevel effect to it or something.
Way too many stars.
The water isn't smooth enough and has a weird white reflection on it in the middle that seems to come from nowhere. The reflections of the stars in it don't look like reflections.
I think that's just reiterations of what other people said, but there it is anyway.
