Okay could you people please finally stop making games that require the Z and Y key for heaven’s sake?
Games are just NOT playable if you DO NOT have an English keyboard. Thanks a lot.
Does anybody even make games that use the Z and Y key? I would understand if it was Z and X, but Z and Y? On my Qwerty keyboard, the Y key is like 6 keys away from the X key. I think you mean Z and X. Well, anyway. In my game, in which Z and X is default, you'll be able to switch controls so it doesn't matter... gof
@♦♣♠legendkpr♠♣ϗ: You probably have never seen such a keyboard because you are British, American, Australian or whatever- it’s a German keyboard.
If you compare a German keyboard to an English keyboard its not too different besides the fact that the Y and Z keys are switched WHICH IS MY PROBLEM and that I have got Ö Ä Ü and ß
Now check out what a FRENCH keyboard looks like
The position of the keys is totally different compared to an English keyboard (which makes sense of course)

@ David Newton (Wong): Yeh that’s a great idea and I have thought about that my self.
There used to be this little box saying DE (German) which I could switch to EN (for English) I found it to be annoying and closed it though. SO where is the option located for switching to an English keyboard?
If you're in XP it's under "Regional and Language Options" in Control Panel.
I find the German keyboard pretty normal, as I had to use it during summers in Germany when I was younger. The French keyboard is patently insane, however - a particular favourite is trying to type the URL for Amazon on it without looking.
I would say it's because the more common letters are shifted to where it's easier to get to them, but that can't be right because the QWERTY keyboard disregards letter occurrence entirely.
"i know the french keyboard, why the *beep* do people have to switch keys for each lang?
that's stupid... "
you are stupid and probably dont know much about languages or think about them. there is a system behind them. you need certain letters in a language and they are placed so that you can type words easily. the keyboard could also be A B C D E F G A ... but that just doesnt work and its complicated.
if french people use some english keyboard its pretty complicated for them and not really easy and FAST to type words. so please just THINK ABOUT IT FIRST before you say something is stupid
I would have said that as well, but why are they changed for non-English languages when there's no regard for letter frequency on the US/UK one? Off the top of my head, the most common letters are ETAOIN-SHRDLU-CMFGYP (and I can't remember the rest), and very few of the ones near the top of the list are on the home row.
