First thing on mind: Google, right? Heck, Googling is even a verb these days.

But I dunno... Google doesn't seem to be half as good as it seemed to be a few years ago. Back in the 20th century, Google was legendary because you could find ANYTHING that exists on the net, from personal info on any girl you're stalking to vague, unknown scholarships. At what's best is that the thing you were looking for was almost always at the top of the first page.

These days, the top of the pile is always something you just don't give a damn about, and so are about half of the first page.

So... what's good now? Yahoo? MSN Search? Those ancient search engines like Altavista?

Google is great, maybe you're just not using the right terms. Why don't you tell me what you want, and I'll have a go?

Google consistently returns relevant results for me. It's still the best.

As a side note, my website is regularly crawled by the major search engines and I get a fair few hits from search results. It seems people only arrive at my site, if they've searched for something relevant, from Google. MSN in particular sends people to my site who want anything from gay sex to nudist beaches, of which my site sadly has none.
