Hi, I'm working on a little game and I want to make it look a lot like an old NES game if possible. Does anyone know what PC font best resembles the old style NES font? I tried googling it, to no avail. It's cosmetic only I know, but I think it'd look cool for it.

Thanks!

That might be the best idea - or you could get the font sheet from a font site instead. If you just want to use a Windows font, Terminal is pretty close, especially when stretched to twice its width. (Does Win XP even have this font any more?)

I've never used the text blitter. Can you add your own font by using it? It'd be tough but that might be pretty cool to do. If I can't do that correctly, I think I'll try Terminal.

Thanks guys, have a good Sunday!

Text Blitter uses sections of a bitmap image to draw each letter, so can really have anything as text.

There is no standard nes font to my knowledge.

but if it's small so it's blocky with no antialiasing and no more than 3 colours per letter/word then it would look nesish.

Yeah, I just spent the better half of 2 hours looking for anything "NES font". The best I've seen is how to extract the font by NES hacking or something. I'll have to really look into the text blitter. I'm going to go search now to see how to use it later, weee!
