He decided to go to war in Iraq because his daddy tried and failed to conquer them. He told congress it's for oil, and he told citizens that it's for a terrorist group. Now, I don't really follow the story but I think it's a pointless war, and some distant relative of mine was killed in it, I don't even know is name though...
Bush should be focusing on Global Warming because that is something that could destroy the planet. If he wins the war we'll just be using more oil. I know he was president during 9/11/01 but in 10 years or so terrorism will be the least of our worries. Scientists have proof that global warming is happening and it is because of us, yet Bush fails to recognise that it even exists.
It's a natural process, and we have nothing to do with it's progress to the doomies of our planet. This is a scientifically proven fact. Global Warming is a joke. I'm going to use as much oil as I want (fuck, I'll bathe in it!) and I'll chug around in a big, expensive, deadly car that will kill harmless lil' creatures. No. We have nothing to do with Global Warming. Get your facts straight.
President Bush is an idiot, but you have to feel bad for him. He's trying to do what's right...but he does it all wrong.
The war itself has nothing to do with 'his daddy'. Once again, Bush does the wrong thing for the right reasons. The first part of the war in Afghanistan was perfectly justified, but then he got carried away. He thinks he's doing the right thing, but again, he's a complete moron, and he's incompetent.
Iraq was obviously a HUGE mistake, but again, he did it because he thought there was something there. Blame the US 'intelligence', not the president.
I'm in the middle as far as politics go. Far left people are pussies who scream and whine about the wrong things, and they are extremely intolerant. Far right people are just plain ignorant and REALLY intolerant.
Stop complaining. We're in a war, like it or not. We have no control. You could bitch and moan all you want, but there's nothing you or any other shmoe (especially that dick Neil Young) can do about it.
I say fuck Neil Young, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, Danny Glover, and all of the other celebrities who think they can sway our petty little minds.
If the three main political parties would stop sniping at each other the US would have more of a stable government.
Fine Garbage since 2003.

we have much to learn about nature, however global warming is very real and could be potentially very bad for the ecosystem. Well i wouldn't dismiss it anyway. We could be adding to it which gives us less time to learn about how to fight against it.
Heat = melted icecaps = more floods = more dead people.
I didn't say Global Warming itself was a farce. Activists say it's our fault. It's not. It's a natural process, just like the Ice Age was natural.

Yeah, we just help it warm up even more a bit.
It's mostly just natural: when you look at those graphs you see a sine wave kind of shape, indicating it goes from hot-cold-hot. Heck, we "just" came out of an ice age!
With all the too-much-CO2 stuff, we ARE kinda disturbing the natural balance in the atmosphere though. How far can we yet go doing that?
Apparently, even if all the glaciers and ice shelves melt (not counting those above sea level, which would take longer), the change would be about 50cm. OH NO.
Yeah I don't think that global warming is the main issue regarding air pollution. I think air quality needs to be improved simply because it can be foul to breathe in the city, but all this fear-mongering with global warming is just irresponsible.
I live pretty up north. Here it is ussually -20 or even -30 degrees Celsius in the winter, but a couple of years ago the snow didn't appear before in the middle of December, and shortly after it melted and melted every time it reappeared. Today, it is above ten degrees warm and it's not even May. I don't know if it happened occassionally 20 or 50 years ago, but it is certainly not ussuall for this climate.
Not that I am particilary fancy of going outside while below minus thirty, but I believe sudden changes in the climate can have consequenses.
Also, if global warming is natural I believe it wouldn't appear as fast and sudden as it appearantly did. And if this by all means would be considered slowly in significance to what awaits us, I see no reason to quiken the process.
Thanks you!
Yes it's a natural process but it's gotten much worse since we showed up. Then of course there is acid rain and smog in city's now. Whatever the case if we don't clean up our act in 10 years thing's are gonna get messy.
Even if it's not global warming that wipes out human kind, whatever does could easily have something to do with pollution. When I am finally old enough to drive i'm gonna get the cleanest car available.
Yeah, sorry for bringing up a *really* old post, but I think that we should just leave our planet and colonize, like, mars or something. Let the Earth go through the NATURAL stages of global warming, and then go back. Who knows what we'll find?
When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

It's probably better to stay on a planet that can support life. For the time being. It's a much better climate here than any other planet. You can't create water out of nothing too so it needs to have that first.
Also only about 12 people have ever walked on somewhere that isn't Earth. The Moon...
Wow, I seriously hate spending a few minutes reading a post, only to suddenly notice that the date is years behind. Radix being in the post, is what completely through me off.

so yeah, we're not going anywhere.
no but you can create it out of hydrogen and oxygen. something completely manageable and doable. a small colonization could be possible but a large scale full planet colonization wont happen for some great time. not to mention the drastic temperature change. i still hate every teacher i ever had that told me that if the earth was any bit closer to the sun we'd all burn or if a bit farther we'd all freeze, yet we can live and travel in space

i was thinking more space stations than suits. if you can have climate control inside a station you could probably build something of biodome status on a planet to live in.
Talk about going to other planets because we spoiled this one always bothers me a bit. It's like throwing your dirty socks away and buying new ones because you're too lazy to wash them.

I agree with you, but cleaning a planet is a little harder then cleaning a sock. Especially when the planet is constantly trying to clean itself, and it's methods are a little more unorthodox, leaning more towards killing as many of us as it can in the process.

Um i don't think you can join those together... Besides You would need a lot of both for that. Hydrogen is pretty common but Oxygen needs organic life to sustain it otherwise it just gets absorbed by things.
I'm pretty sure you need water to start off with.

Not really, if you chose to live somewhere that gets 'washed' often then move. Infact its us that are unorthodox, all those years spent pumping crap into the atmosphere. We pretty deserve whatever happens to us.
its one technology that is trying to replace current fossil fuels.
it takes hydrogen from some sort of storage tank (its downfall because it is currently difficult to store hydrogen in an efficient way) and it uses some sort of electric process (its been awhile since i did a report so id have to look up the name. i want to say electrolosis?) to combine the hydrogen with incoming oxygen. the cell uses the energy created from the process to do whatever is needed. water is a byproduct of the process. all water is is 1 part hydrogen 2 parts oxygen (H2O)
so we could have water and energy. like i said. small colonization. even if we had to bring our own oxygen.

Actually, electrolysis seperates water into hydrogen and oxygen. All it takes to recombine the two is a spark or flame. Also, water is two parts hydrogen one part oxygen. H2 O. One hydrogen two oxygen would be HO2, which if I recall, doesn't exist.
but no shab. simply burning hydrogen and oxygen to make water also causes other byproducts that produce smog. we wouldnt want that. but yes in that water is very easy to make.
It's not a bad idea colonizing other planets, assuming we don't kill any natives in the process. The thing is, if you can terraform other planets, why not terraform your own? You could technically live on other planets with a heck lot of technology, but it'll be dangerous if anything starts malfunctioning.
Hehe, I managed to convince some other people the other day that H20 (not H2O, with the Oh, not Zero) stood for 2 Helium + Oxygen

Colonizing other planets. . . and then after we destroy those? Just seems like a vicious circle. We're a Virus. We just reproduce and consume and when there's nothing left to consume we move on. And the only reason we have to stop consuming is to prolong our existance. If we die, the earth lives, but if earth lives and there's nothing on it, what is its purpose for existing?
I think I just referenced two keanu reeves movies in all that but damn, for a guy who's acting is like cardboard, he's in some deep and meaningful shit.
Yeah I mean Neo wasn't very deep. Then Constantine, and now Gort. . . I thought he was good in Speed though. Not oscar-worthy good but he didn't seem boring or one dimensional in that. And say what you will about bill and ted but that wasn't really cardboard either. It's probably just the roles he plays now.
Whatever happened to Alex Winter from Bill and Ted?? Man he got the raw end of the deal after that and Bogus Journey. I wonder if he hates Keanu now (kinda like Mark Hamill is bitter against Harrison Ford) for geting more films? Or maybe the reason we don't see him is coz he's building a huge spaceship, ready to leave us (and Keanu) to drown on our damaged-goods-of-a-planet?
"Now who's f**king laughing? You can keep your millions and your film conracts, Ted!" i bet he'll shout as he takes off for Mars.
.....And i bet he'll leave a stack of tyres burning in his garden as he leaves, just to peeve us off some more. Yeah i agree with you lot, Alex Winter is an a**hole!!
It is really important to understand the aftermath of global warming. The important thing is not whether we will live in more islands or not, but most animals will be dead and that would mean we won't be able to gather any food (meat/plantations/etc.) So we will starve to death

If you ever saw my socks after I take off my boots, you'd understand!
