Ok, maybe I'm wrong, but as far as I'm aware there are some alterable value names you can type, but when it comes to typing the expression in the event editor, it does not allow you to use them.

I renamed values A, B, and C to seconds, minutes and hours.

Yet in the event editor, you cannot use the these alterable values anymore, i ended up calling them seconds1, minutes1 and hours1 to get it to work. Why is this? And what other words can't you use?

You cant use them, because they confuse MMF... MMF uses those words as if they weren't alterable values, because it makes the expressions in the event editor, cleaner and easier to understand. If you know MMF well enough, you should know what can and cant be used. For example, just using X or Y wouldn't be a good idea, because we know that MMF uses those for X & Y positions of objects...

Common since will keep you from running into alterable value name issues.

Yeah i figured it was something like that, but i can't see any time you would need to use "seconds" not as an alterable value... none of the objects use that?

Yesh. Typing "seconds" in the expression evaluator returns the number of seconds since the frame's start.

Oh yes... I've always pretty much ignored the timer object, i think it's because i don't like it's icon.

Timer events are awful. You can make your own timer with counters or alterable values anyway.
