Don't get me started on that Axel. They play it everywhere we used to own except for USA and Canada.
And Newt, I don't think you understand what I am saying. England did indeed play shite, but the FIFA rankings deem it fit to place us fifth in the world, with a revised ranking system than before. England are a good team, but not the best. They have some of the best players, though, but not the best team.
Heh... I've wanted Italy to win ever since 4 years ago. But my fanship of Italy was only because Totti in the FIFA 2002 game resembled me and I actually managed to score a goal from a free kick in the other half of the field in that game, lol .
But this WC was pretty sad. So few goals. The first match was the best ever, 4-2. And the last... lots of goals didn't count. One french penalty wasn't there, though it should be. And Zidane's penalty shouldn't technically count, coz it bounced OUT of the goal, didn't touch the net.
And all the winners played dirty. Italian players were rolling around and acting injured, which people noticed because they wanted France to win. But what pisses me off was that nobody noticed Germany cheating in the Ger-Por match. I mean WTF, about 8 free kicks in front of the Portugese goal (first half)? Stopped watching by the 2nd goal coz by then it was obviously rigged. The refs shouldn't be giving yellow cards just because the German players decide to fall down 5 seconds after being pushed. Worst thing of all was that both Germany and Italy would've won easily without any cheating.
And England is IMHO, the most overrated team in the world. They're good individually, but they're a bad team. And I dislike Beckham & Rooney's attitudes. LOL, I'm happy they lost, especially to Portugal.
"So that was the final? No more talk about football for 4 years?"
LOL, unless you live in North America, there will be mention of football at least once a week in the papers, and a continental cup at least once every 2 years. Malaysia actually has a fairly detailed football system even though it's considered one of the worst teams in the world... lost by 6 goals about 8 times internationally, lol.
Dunno.. I used to hate the sport when I was forced to play it at gym class, but the best thing about football is the huge anti-racial effect you can see around. I kinda wish it was on every year. It's one of those few things that literally stops wars and political fights. At least here in Malaysia.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Newt, I don't know whether it's your shaky grasp of English or just sheer bloody-mindedness. I agree with you, England are a shite team. Excellent players, shite team.
Ok Noodle, fine! You have some good players..ok. But what is to have good players and not a good team, it's like someone with a supercomputer and not knowing how to use it. Doesnt' do you any good! And I have yet to see since I was born, a british team who wowed me and that's my point.
Actually correction, I shouldn~t say a british team since I don't follow England's soccer championships, but national british team I mean that go on the World Cups.
Lots of British women own massive pink cars and only ever speak to their butler/chauffeur.
Us brits aren't afraid to lose, infact we almost prefer it. Which is why we suck sometimes. It's a quality we have called (gracefull losers) or something, well i made that phrase up but it's similar.
