hmm... I've been creating some animation, and want to incorporate it into my game as cut-scenes. It's pretty huge and at 25fps, so I have to use good compression.
Does anybody know of any good codecs specifically for game cut-scenes? Divx5 is probably out of the question, because who wants to go online and download it...
Bink perhaps?
Oh Adam...lol Anyway, mpeg format is very popular in the game industry, you can see it's logo in various games that use Full Motion Animation. MPEG-4 has really good encoding and small size files. I also wonder what format I will go for. When using a codec you should also read it's lincensing agreement because many will charge you if you sell your game.
er... is it a good thing I'm a girl? By commenting on my gender you make it sound like I'm a freak or something
Pretty lesbian girls can be geeks too, can't we?...
I think I'm settling on the microsoft mpeg4 codec. All windows-based systems have it, right?
