Hi I'm making a game over the next year or so with TGF2 and it's going to be online, so you can log in and load your man.
I was wondering what the best resolution would be for playing online is. 640x480 or 800x600. I would prefer to go 800x600 because it allows for better graphics and a more comfortable view. However I don't know how long it would take to load.
What are the pros and cons about creating a game in these resolutions?

512x384 sounds better to me.

I had a look at 512x384 but it's too small for my liking. I don't want to go smaller than 640x480.

I'd say 720x540 just to be awkward

Nah, I'd go for 800x600

800x600, You'll be able to fit more detail in, and hardly any computers run at 640x480 anymore.

But will most internet speeds and browsers of today be able to handle 800x600. I don't want it running really slow and loading every minute.

Yes? A user's internet speed will not affect its ability to render graphics. And what do you need to know about a user's internet browser resolution in order to run a click game?

I read an article not to long ago that over 50% of the world's computers are running at 1024x768, and the next in line was 1280x720. It should be fine.
