As a musician, spriter, and too some degree coder, Ill agree that as a musician Im more likely too actually deliver. Its not REALLY a matter of one form being any easier then the other forms, as a matter of fact, writing good music is often much harder then writing good code or making good sprites, however, you invest a great deal less time overall into the creation of it, particularly for games where the goal is too create ambiance. If you give me a dessert level, as something I need too do, I could just improvise in phrygin for half an hour, and by the end of it, I would have enough parts too write something compositionally sound that did the job. Its not a matter of challange, or musicians being more into there work, it just takes less time. You ask someone too spend 10 hours of there life helping you, and they might move onto other things before there done, you ask for an hour, and they prolly will do it.

If you are the kind of person who want to make sure things get done, I would recommend hiring people who have a different level of respect for you than friendship. If that sounds harsh enough for you, I'd try to team up with people who have skills that are very different than your own, so you can all depend on each other without interfering in each others 'area of skill'.

Democratic way: Team up a couple of buddies and make slow but fine progress.
