Is anyone here quite experienced with Macromedia* Director? I'm having a nooby problem:

I have 1 "parent" .dir file, and I'd like to embed the navigation panel (an external .dir file) into this. However, none of the mouseUp lingo works when I do this, which is useless considering it's a navigation panel. I've done some investigating and it appears to be notoriously difficult to do this simple and quite obvious thing, usually requiring pages of lingo to fudge results out of it. I can't believe it's this difficult to simply embed another file with working lingo, so I'm hoping that one of you guys will have a simple fix!

Edit: *Adobe. Whatever.

Director is a bit like Flash except a bit more technical. If you've ever been prompted to download the Shockwave plugin or used an interactive CD-ROM, then there's a good chance you've used something made in Director.

As for the above problem, I couldn't find an answer that wasn't going to be more trouble than it's worth, so I've just changed the way the presentation is organised; by making all of the navigation elements external and sharing them among all of the sub-files.
