a few time ago I used an extension to control winamp, and I think there is a plugin for winamp able to play vgz musics.
but with this method you should include winamp to your game (the main winamp.exe and maybe some ini... with the .dll plugin, of course), and it's not very clean because winamp runs with the game, it uses maybe some processor

Holy shit, it'd be a horrible and not well executable idea to include and run a copy of Winamp with the game.
There is no extension for this. IMF and SPC have their extensions, but VGZ doesn't (yet). Maybe someone can make a Retro Music Object or something?

maybe you're better of getting the winamp plugin, then playing it in winamp while switching on winamp's disk writer feature, and then make an mp3 out of that...would certainly be easier than interfacing with winamp's extensions through another extension..
