Work on my game "The Orphanage" is going very well at the moment since I have a lot of free time. I've revamped the weapon modelling, AI (NPCs now must reload their weapons) and I've added a few new weapons. Luckily, in my last major engine revamp I got all the code organised, so adding the new code to the other levels will be as simple as copy and paste.
I recently implemented a new rifle which is possibly the most evil gun in the game. Primary fires gas propelled flechettes at a rate of 25 per second, with very low recoil. Secondary fires a spread of 3 spinning micro blades, each of which deals high damage. The cool thing is you can set the speed and direction of the spin on the blades. Putting spin on the blades causes them to follow a curved path, so you can curl blades around behind obstacles to hit enemies that are not directly in your line of fire.
The way that you set the curvature of the blades' path is pretty intuitive I think. It can be quite precise, not just hit and miss. Also the fact that the gun launches a spread of three blades increases likeleyhood of a hit.
Unfortunately for you, there is an "Elite" class enemy that use the gun. The primary fire is devastating enough, but they can also intelligently use the blades to curve around your cover.
I don't want to reveal all about my game before it is even released but I just felt like sharing that because it took quite a bit of effort to implement and I'm quite proud of the end result
I'm hoping to finish making the game around august/september.

I honestly think this could be the best game of the year - it's pretty much my favourite type of game and the different things you've done in it are things that haven't really been done in a klik game before (as far as I'm aware..). Really loving how this game is turning out - the new gun sounds awesome, especially with the spinning blades!!
Whoa thanks flava, I'm inspired to get it finished
The spinning blades should add quite a fun new dimension to multiplayer combat
The demo level I released will not be a part of the final game- I felt it came across as a little too contrived and bland. The rows of identical wooden huts didn't provide much of an immersive setting, and the sandbags were so blatantly placed for you to use them that it didn't really give the level much artistic quality.

You could always (if you haven't already) include a scenario that requires the blades to be bent around a small wall, in order to destroy security cameras/security features etc that would otherwise detect you and start attacking (if it's a camera it would alert soldiers to your presence).
can it be made to curve 360°?
I also assume that the speed/power of the blades changes the radius of the curved path?
If not that's something to look into.
But knowing you you probably thought of all that alredy
Joe, your idea for about security cameras sounds cool, I will include it if I have time
It can curve 360 degrees (although I might limit this) but you cannot slice yourself with your own blades.
The blades fire at a fixed speed and power. To fire the blades on a curve you hold down the mouse button. A trajectory indicator appears (see screenshot 2). When you drag the mouse left or right, the trajectory curves left or right; the more you drag the curve to one side, the smaller the radius of the curve. I wanted to keep it intuitive to use so that it can easily be used on the fly

I'll be looking for people who are savvy enough to give me useful feedback, and who have experience playing shooters such as half life. Naturally there is a place open for Flava and Willy C. I'll post a specific thread about it when the game is ready for a beta.
I'm not really sure when I'll be able to release some levels for testing, but it should be fairly soon. I'll try and get some levels finished for you to play before I go on holiday.
I was going to demonstrate the game at this year's click convention, but I realised that my holiday runs over it which was a bit annoying
