Hey all, I'm just wondering if the antialiasing option is a problem for me alone or everyone else. It's the same for me in MMF2 as it was in 1.5. I even have a new computer and it does the same stuff: when sprites are destroyed, little bits of them stay visible on the screen, weird lines shoot through them when other sprites overlap them, etc. It looks fine when there is no interaction but once things get moving all these little weird things happen. Is it just me? Is there a fix?

Common if not impossible to avoid. This also happens in a lot of older games when you force anti-alias on with videocard drivers.
You really shouldn't use the built in anti-alias anyway. Just use the alpha channeling that active objects have, and smooth out the sides that way. It takes a little more effort, but the outcome with performance and looks makes it worth it.

PS: Anti-Alias on hand drawn sprites isn't recommended anyway, it ruins the style for the most part.

So is there a way around it? Also I don't get what you mean by "happens in a lot of older games when you force anti-alias on with videocard drivers."

Basically exactly what I said.

What I meant about older games though, and some newer games. Take a look at SimCity 4. If you turn Anti-Alias on with the drivers, you'll get marks where Anti-Alias redraw issues show up.
They don't mess with the game any, and disappear if you scroll away and come back to them. Like I said though, you shouldn't use anti-alias on hand draw sprites, nor should you use MMF's anti-alias for the shear reason that it's not performance friendly, especially on slower computers.

That sucks. It doesn't slow down for me, and it looks like for what I'm using it for. The sprites are mostly non-animated and like a 24x48 size. But those stupid marks and specks keep forming. Ok well. I hate drawing alpha channel stuff
