What exactly are they there for? Are they to make sure nobody can go into your .cca file and screw it up or are they to make sure nobody can hack your .exe and screw it up?

Thanks!

It lets people jump to a frame by typing in a levels password. You give each level a password in the storyboard editor, and players can type it in the tool bar to skip levels that they want to skip.

It's better to use the ini object to save progress because no one wants to memorize a password.

You mean you can write down a password below the frame title right? In a standard MMF/TGF game, there's an option to type in a password so you can jump to that level (File->password). I don't think anybody uses it.

I never got around using this, but they're there so that, through the menu, you can let the player type in a password that will send them to the respective level, if matched with a frame's password.

It's there only for compatibility from KNP. I don't think any actual game would use it now, unless they use a re-implemention with a new gui using MMF2Params object.

I used that loads in my old knp games, as there was no way of making savegames back then.
