It would've been similar to SSB, with similar engine and gameplay, but with klik characters! Like Flerrpy, Jonny, Satan Sam, Mr. Stump, etc.
The modes would've been:
Adventure- One of the Klik characters would go on a quest to find the meaning of life or something, and meet and beat others along the way.
Arcade- Just random matches, like Classic mode in SSB.
Mission- Different themed matches, like Event Mode.
Training- Allows one to play different training themed minigames.
Multiplayer- Play against friends locally or over the internet.
There were different styles of battles like:
Apocolypse- Fight a match on an ending planet! What happens when it ends?!!
Item Party- Only items will do damage.
War Game- That's the only name I could come up with, but it would esentially be two teams, one player each, and they have a bunch of filler enemies, like regular humans, or wire frames, or something, and whoever loses all their troops and dies first loses.
Speed Run- These take place on Adventure levels, and they loop endlessly, but they are constantly scrolling. Try to keep up!
Normal Matches- Self-explanatory.
Tournaments- Self-explanatory.
I'd have gotten a bunch of people doing different jobs, like music, engine, menu, online, etc. It would have been a huge project, and it would have been real cool to work on. I didn't say anything though, because I didn't have MMF or MMF2, just TGF, so I wouldn't have been able to do much. I wanted to wait until I got MMF2, and then I read this.
But your's is a cool idea. I'd like to help, maybe I can have my own character(s) in it as well.
If you read what I said earlier, I said that in this idea there would be someone (who surely wouldn't be any classic character) that fought against all these enemies we create. So, not like SSB, more like mortal kombats 1 player game.
There's no name for this game yet. When I get the base engine ready, I'll post it here with the name and people can start to do their own bosses.
Also, there seems to be some kind of broken pic in your post
Ok then. So, will one just mow right through challenge after challenge, or maybe they go through a short stage before, or upgrades, how many different modes are there going to be, will there be online multiplayer (I cant code that) and who else is working on this?
Uh.
Basically, I thought there wouldn't be any different modes (maybe a 'hard' mode), and yes, it would be
an enemy after enemy. The idea of a level before the boss is nice, but the main idea of this game would be so that everyone creates their own boss, just the main character would be the same. So, when doing your own level, you could do there a level before the boss, but it should be good quality and sure needs a lot of work. In the example I'm doing there's one 'basic' boss (run & shoot) and one 'weird' boss (with some special abilities). If I get enough wentries, there will also be some secret bosses.
and if you read what I said earlier, 'When I get the base engine ready, I'll post it here with the name and people can start to do their own bosses.' So currently I'm working on this only, but when the engine's ready, people do their own bosses.
I've only skim-read this, so I hope I've not missed something important. Just a thought:
If it's a fighting game in the style of SSBM, isometric's gonna be a bummer from an animating point of view. You'd have to face problems of perspective, and redraw all frames of the same animation from several angles.
If you want players to be able to have lots of custom moves, I think Platform is your friend.
