so there are many great games out there but are there any great PC ONLY titles? to me it seems like everything is a port/gets ported and then consoles have some sexy titles you can only play on them while PC doesnt have ANY sex title you can only on it.

Portal, but I don't know if that's ported.
A bunch of others, but I don't know what kind of games you are looking for (old or new).
Any half-life variation that's on the 360 can barely be considered a game-- I can't imagine how it'd be trying to fling yourself across the room through portals using anything but a mouse...
Although actually, there was a N64 port of Starcraft. I've played it through an emulator (stupid, isn't it? Playing a crippled N64 version of a PC game... On a PC) and it was quite awful.
Planescape Torment is a must for anyone who likes RPGs. Uses the same Engine as Baldurs Gate and Icewind dale. Some of the best dialogue i've ever read in that game.
I'm playing through Thief (Gold edition) at the moment. Great game.
@Nick!: how do you get to run thief1? damn those ghosts were always so scary but i think they were just speaking polish.
do you need DOS box to run thief1 or can you just install it on XP and it will work fine?
@Knudde (Shab): funny you say it. recently a friend is telling me how awesome Arcanum is (he loves fallout).
@Willy C: i tend to agree. I LOVE FPS and this is why im not a console guy. FPS with a JOYPAD - thats just shit. 360 people will always bug me with "OMFG HALO3" - yes it does look nice but still you play it with a fucking JOYPAD
when is halo3 going to come out for PC anyways?
@-Slínka Claus-: Crysis looks VERY sexy and I want it. We have it lying around at work but I have not touched it yet. Crysis makes me consider if I should install Vista as well = DirectX 10

In Vista and XP you need to use the Run box to run "d:\setup.exe -lgntforce" or whatever the path to the install is.
The tricky bit is this: you need to wait... for a long time. It took about 30mins for me before the install actually started. I don't know why, but it all runs fine after that.
Once the game has loaded up, press ctrl+alt+del, go to the THIEF.EXE process, and right click it and click "Set affinity", make sure only 1 CPU is selected. This will stop the game crashing randomly. You need to do this every time you run the game.
