Hello all. My old laptop which had XP got stolen so I was had to buy a new one. I heard bad things about Vista, but since they didn't have any laptops for said that had XP, I had to get one with Vista. But now I just noticed a big problem. I can't change any of animation speeds for active objects. I can move the min/max sliders, but the numbers won't change. It's impossable to make any sort of game if all my objects are stuck at 1min /100max animation speeds.
Any advice? I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Thanks.

This is a very interesting glitch. Unfortunately I'm completely stumped at this one; all I can say is that you cannot change animation speeds at runtime, either, since the "Set animation speed" event simply does not work.

You can always go into the compatibility on the .exe TGF icon, and set it to "Windows 95 compatability mode" or "Windows XP compatibility mode". You generally need to activate the '95 mode on TGF games when operating in XP to prevent them from crashing, so this might have a subtle effect on the actual TGF compiler in vista if you are lucky

I don't have this problem with Vista 64bit.
So maybe it could be something else causing the problem?

Grab the latest TGF update here http://www.clickteam.com/eng/downloadcenter.php?i=114
That should fix the animation speed problem.

Well there is going to be lot of problems wen ou have vista. So Download/buy XP and delete the virus (Vista) from your computer. The take your Corrupter cd (Vista cd), and soot a video, where ou smash the shit. And put it on youtube.

I think either the upgrade that the (phizzy?) pointed out, or changing to windows 95/xp compatibility mode should fix it.

I've had that error in Windows 2000 many times. I never thought of using compatibility mode though; try that.

The problem is most likely NOT vista. So purchasing XP for such a simple fix would be silly.

I know Vista (and Microsoft) bashing is rather popular on the internet but thats no reason to jump to conclusions.

Ahem, well mom bought laptop with vista. Well I installed vista on my comp oo and well guess what. The laptop is sucky (as most are), it's office kind of version, and well the power isn't the best. Well in the laptop vista is desoying the comp, because vista takes a lot of power from prosessor and hole comp. The laptop, is slow and it souldn't be. Also the start menu bugs. When I open start menu only what I see is shadows. This I have seen on my table comp too. Also many programsneed to be updated for vista. And well some studios are not making those updates. So thats, why comps have to have vista and xp on comp.

This you have mayby seen this on many forums and youtube, but I don't know ave you red articles about gamestudios. The cryid about vista, because you have 2 options make for vista or xp. There are 10% of windows users, that use vista (valve questiong thing) and other uses xp, well there is a problem will yoou do games and programs to vista or xp? Vista uses new tecnology, but 10% of users and mayby 5% gets them via bying laptop or packet machina, that can' run the game. Or make xp, with more users and therefore more buyers.

Windows is just greedy, just like games workshop. They have monopoly and they can tell the prize then. I hope vista would be gone flop!

And when not making this totally offtopic I have advise to tetsuya_shino:

Change the windows to Vista, it saves hell lot of time, and after few years, when it has been bug fixed, and done many changes (games and programs has vista supported updates), then change to vista. That's what I did, tried vista and noticed I got sucker windows with nicer menu graphics only! I wait until it becomes like xp, then install it again back. (it takes ½-2 years, bu worth of waiting). Then you don't have to ask these questions again, because everything works as they should be!

ok so where is your evidence that Vista causes TGF's speed slider to not work?
