Ok, if anyone has ever played the original ninja gaiden you know what im talking about. I want to turn pictures of real people into video gamey graphics for cutscenes in my games.
Take some photos of yourself or friends in front of something plain. Then save it as a 16 colour bitmap and go over the lines and polish it up in MS Paint or Photoshop.
If you want more effective ways then get some professional equipment

Ok...but how do you save it as a 16 color bmp...
NVM, i figured it out. The actual colors change alot though, like something beige might turn green...
Yeah, photos use a LOT of colours so saving in that format makes use of only 16... It really helps out though as it should leave enough of the image visible, enabling you to simply draw around it and also lets you make use of the fill tool, which you could not use in true colour.
What? They were based off actors? I always thought the cutscene sprites in Ninja Gaiden were handdrawn originals.
I didn't know they actually based them off actual photos. I mean, Tecmo's artists were pretty talented enough to draw them on their own. Hmm... that's interesting.
