So, in regards to demo uploading. Is it alright to start a new download page when I upload new demos so that people will see them at the top of the list? (I would delete the old ones.)
I wouldn't recommend it. Most people would probably see it as spam, or as a cheap attempt to get DC points, or attention. If you're gonna release a lot of demos before the 1.0 release, create a project page for your game, and submit your demos as devlog entries, or on the project forum. That's what I'd do.
I say it's best not to release all that many demos, people tire of click games easily and move on to the next pretty easily, so you don't want people being bored with your game before it's even finished.
I used to have very few points even though i have a fairly large downloads list, yet some others had way more for doing nothing... which is a bit weird.
Maybe you get more points for creating thousands of threads than you do for releasing games...
I remember someone who kept submitting new demos in the downloads section and it really pissed people off. I would recommend you submit a single major demo in the downloads section (Most people come out with 1 demo before release) and put smaller incremental demo releases in a project in the projects section.
Gotcha. Wasn't planning on going nuts with it anyway. I figured I'd probably put out three at the MAX. First is already out, second will be midway, and the third will probably be with everything finished, just not quite as polished as the final.
