Say English, have any of you people managed to preorder GTAIV? I looked online and was rejected, so I went to two GAME shops and a Gamestation and was rejected more.
GTAIV is apparently the biggest selling game ever. I've got the Special Edition up in my browser, but... It's super expensive...
Not as bad as Rock Band, though! £180 for what the Yanks paid $170 for. We Europe folks so lucky!
Once I'm back to good health I'll probably pick up an Xbox and GTAIV just for that extra DLC (whenever it arrives). Unless theres a PC version announced. Love to have it on Steam, hopefully with Steamworks and with built in server support.
I was in quite a predicament indeed, until my brother-in-law managed to secure me a copy before stores began announcing that they're no longer taking preorders on the standard edition due to unprecedented demand.
He was causing a stir in the Mario Kart thread and he is still banned. I see nowt wrong with it. If he was let back in and posted this thread he wouldn't have been banned.
He keeps coming back under different guises, so he's trying to get around the ban system. We could ban his IP but I think others would be affected.
As far as I remember it was a ban. A ban should stay a ban until we feel the need to end the ban. He's tried to come back time and time again. I don't care if his posts are helpful, harmless or otherwise, a punishment is still a punishment and he's not adhering to it.
What did phizzy do that was so damn wrong, being banned for life is a bit harsh, its not like he abuses people and starts brawls in the frickin alley! He was sending harmless post that were quite innocent, nothing compared to some of the shit i used to post on boards!
Nobody said he was banned for life. Its exactly what he was doing, he was being abusive, starting arguments, posting pointless and stupid threads... the list isn't quite endless though. There was talk of us unbanning his original account about a month or so ago on the basis that he wouldn't create new fake accounts - and then suddenly there were fake accounts. Phizzy was warned on numerous occasions.
There is a possibility that we will completely destroy his original account, with all his hard work, submissions, DC points, DCMails, etc, if he keeps this up - and that would really piss him off. If he just lays low for a while like a good boy we may be tempted to remove the ban.
Unfortunately he's not willing to play ball, so we have to resort to actions like this.
It's funny how people immediately think we ban him for no reason and just assume we're the ones being wrong - I just wish maybe you guys could trust us for just a second. The fact is, not only has he been causing arguments in certain threads but he has also sent abusive emails to some of our members since making this new account. I can understand you sticking up for a friend and everything, but whether you like it or not, that is against our rules and that is a certain ban in our eyes.
If he could could back and be civilised, I would personally be happy to welcome him back as I think he can benefit the community. But the matter of the fact is, he can't seem to be civilised even when we give him a chance. So to end on that, considering he made this thread and it's already gone off topic - I think it deserves to be locked. If you want to discuss the GTA IV release in anyway, feel free to start a new thread.
