A tech hoax is a manipulated screenshot. Unlike ordinary hoaxes, where changes are usually obvious. The point of tech hoaxes is to make the changes that are... well, less obvious. It's up to the people seeing the tech hoax to find what's wrong in the pic.

Back in the day this was one of my favourite games, I played it non stop. Shame now I can't remember enough about it to point out what is wrong with that pic :/
Although tails was in the game, I don't think you could play as him... And don't think you could spin dash in that game either. Could be wrong though.

You can't play as Tails in Sonic 2 for SMS.

Sonic 2 for Megadrive, yes. But he's not playable in Sonic 2 for SMS.
You're correct about the ring counter. It maxes out at 99 rings. Get another one and it returns to zero and rewards you with an extra life.

Correct, you couldn't spindash in Sonic 2 for SMS.

I think i got another: shouldnt there be more to the background than just mountains, even if it is jsut a gradiant or something, but it seems too plain to be a pro. game. or mabey its just me.

Well SOMEONE's been to SonicRetro.org! The first error is that tails is in the game; the second is that they are sonic Chaos sprites; the third is that he is spindashing (sonic 2 sms did not have it), and there are loads more.
Sonic 2 came with my GameGear. I remember absolutely hating that game considering most of the levels had 2-3 enemies in them. I traded it in for credit towards the excellent GG version of Desert Strike.
Robotnik drops bouncy balls off screen to the top left down a slope and Sonic has to jump over them, which is amazingly hard on the tiny blurry GG screen. Some pincers are sitting at the bottom of the slope in case sonic slips down it.
Then after he runs out of balls, Robotnik charges towards Sonic and collides with the pincers. (providing you jump out of the way in time)
Still I wonder what made Robotnik so keen to catch sonic to take him over to the boss area instead of letting him die in the lava...
I don't like it because Sonic 1 and 2 on the Megadrive where my first Sonics and the games before it feel too different. Same reason why I don't like the new DS Sonics. GBA had Megadrive-style physics.
