This may not be worth wasting a post on, but I never realized how many guests TDC gets! I just randomly check the Active Users page every once in a while and it's almost always above or near 100!
Oh, and... Has anybody else noticed that the misc forum is the one with the most posts? The forum that has no real bearing on the site is the one that gets used most.
I think most of the posts in the misc forum are about religion or consoles. Or some dumb joke that only a few people get. Or the old 'everyone make up a story' threads.

Well, actually the site does get a lot of guests. Where do you think all the downloads come from? Bots don't download files, otherwise there wouldn't be so many games with less than 10 downloads.
Only about 3% of all people who go to the site are really active. Thus is the nature of the silent majority. To some people, the website functions as a 'free games' site. It's just that they don't really bother to comment or vote on anything that makes the guest list seem wierd.

well i can discredit that point too lol. in the second paragraph he was referring to signed up people using the site as a free games site and dont bother commenting or rating.
Yes, a couple of years ago I had to be content to just visit as a guest since the darnded thing wouldn't let me create a darnded account. It was such an awe-inspiring ginormous-seeming site then. Not that it's still great now, but I don't know. It's hard to explain. It's like seeing gameplay movies from a cool new video game, and then buying it, and it doesn't play the way you expected, but it's still fun.

im pretty sure he's reffering to members. i dont think he's that ignorant to think that guests can be active users.

Thank you! People hate hassles, and if people want to use the site as a "Free Games" thing, it should be encouraged; I'd love to see games of my own get more than 100 downloads total....
What, lol? I just post a random comment while tired and in a few hours people are debating my wording.
I meant that it looks like there's too many guests but there really are that many. It's just that none of the guests vote or comment so they're invisible and stuff. Bots, spiders, and lost people only count as about 5 people a month, at least according to my abandoned website. But my site doesn't score that high on Google.
